• Lounge access is included in Business Class

Flex

Flex is the most comprehensive and flexible Reward Ticket option.

When do the new Flying Blue Reward Ticket fares start?

The new Light, Standard and Flex Reward Ticket options will be available from 8 September 2026 for new reward bookings on Air France and KLM-operated flights.

Bookings made before 8 September 2026 are not affected. Existing Reward Tickets will keep their original conditions, including if changes are later made to an unused ticket.

Are partner airline Reward Tickets affected?

The new fare structure mainly applies to Air France and KLM-operated flights.

For itineraries that combine Air France or KLM flights with partner airline flights, only the Standard Reward Ticket option will be available. Stand-alone Reward Tickets on partner airlines will continue under the existing structure.

Can Flying Blue members still use Miles for additional services?

Yes. If a service is not included in the selected Reward Ticket fare, members can purchase it separately where available. Additional services can be added during booking or after booking through the relevant Air France or KLM booking management channels.

What does this mean when redeeming Flying Blue Miles?

When redeeming Miles for an eligible Air France or KLM flight from 8 September 2026, Flying Blue members will need to consider not only the number of Miles required but also the benefits and flexibility included with each Reward Ticket option.

Qantas Points: More Required Across the Board

Qantas has announced a sweeping change in its frequent flyer program that will see a 10-20% increase in Qantas Points needed for redemptions and upgrades. This marks only the second such hike since 2004, and the first since 2019. According to Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance, these changes are designed to keep the program sustainable while continuing to expand seat availability for Classic and Classic Plus Rewards.

These changes will affect all frequent flyers, no matter the cabin class—from economy to first class.

Lock In Lower Qantas Points Rates Before August

If you’re planning to use your Qantas Points for a trip, your best strategy is to book early. Classic Reward seats can be secured up to 11 months in advance, meaning you can still lock in lower rates for travel as far ahead as June 2026—provided you book before August 5, 2025.

Earn More Qantas Points on Paid Flights

There’s a silver lining for frequent flyers: from July 2025, Qantas is also increasing the number of Qantas Points earned on paid flights. Domestic flights will earn up to 25% more points, and the ‘status bonus’ cap for premium cabins—previously limited to Flexible Economy rates—will be abolished. • Business Class: 318,000 → 365,800 Qantas Points
• First Class: 455,000 → 523,200 Qantas Points
